Program overview
Expert Packages are a new, more efficient way for customers and Experts to connect. Experts create fixed-price packages offering specific services (e.g. “New 3 page site for $2,000”). Customers purchase these packages through Webflow and pre-pay the full price upfront.
Availability for work
You may toggle on/off the visibility of your package any time. When your package is visible, it is available for customers to purchase, and you are expected to be available to take on their project.
While you may cancel a booking if you become overbooked or realize it’s not a good fit (see section below), repeated cancellations by an Expert may lead to removal from the program.
Payments & payouts
Client pays upfront: Customers who purchase your package will pay the full amount upfront.
Expert payouts: The customer’s payment will be held by Webflow for 30 days, to account for any refund requests or disputes that may emerge. After 30 days, the payment will be available for you to withdraw, minus the Webflow fees described below.
Refunds, cancellations, and the Payment Protection Guarantee
Things don't always go according to plan. For example, a client might purchase your project but you might end up being too busy to take on the work. Or, you may start working on the project, and then the customer may be unhappy and request a refund.
To protect both you and the client, Webflow is offering a
Payment Protection Guarantee. Both you and the client have the right to cancel a project at any time, and:
Fees
For Expert Packages, Webflow charges two small fees to cover our costs and ensure the safety of the marketplace:
Credit card processing fee (2.9%): We charge a 2.9% fee to cover credit card processing costs.
Marketplace protection fee (5%): We charge a 5% Marketplace Protection fee to cover issues such as fraud and chargebacks. This fee also allows us to cover the Payment Protection Guarantee described above.
For example, this means that if you sell a package for $1,000, you will receive $921 after the Webflow fees (7.9%) are removed. Note that you are welcome to adjust the price of your packages to account for these costs – you retain full control over your pricing and how much you earn.
Program duration
This is an initial, limited experiment that Webflow is testing out. Once it goes live to customers, we expect it to last 4-6 weeks, but the exact length will depend on the results we’re seeing. After this time, we will likely pause the program to evaluate performance and determine whether the program will continue or not.
Note that the terms described above (e.g. fees, payout periods, etc.) may also change if the program continues beyond the initial experiment.
